Who We Are


Bio: Robert Hughes/The Hughes Group/[The FutureShow Group]

Based on the idea that success comes from a creative and collaborative ensemble, Bob established The Hughes Group in 1987 as an innovative communications, design and exhibit group.  With over 25 years experience in strategic marketing and corporate communications, Bob has expanded his clientele to include a broad array of associations, corporations and government agencies, including Discovery Communications, US Postal Service, American Society of Association Executives, American Federation of Teachers, The World Bank, Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Education. Deliverables include multiple database web portals, branding and collateral solutions,  exhibit management, for programs of all sizes.

In 2006,with the goal of creating solutions to rethink efficiencies across the cost-challenged tradeshow industry, Bob began development of the the FutureShow concept beginning with the  Eventege® architectural display system. He commissioned the Event Marketing Institute to interview industry leaders on the future of events from the brand and attendee perspective. The resulting White Paper (found on [The FutureShow Group] website) has been requested well over 1,000 times.


Bio: Andy Holtzman/[The FutureShow Group]

Andy has logged over 20 years of executive leadership across a diverse media marketing career, incorporating results-oriented strategy and creative management.

Employing a distinctive combination of corporate and creative skills – team leadership, strategic marketing vision, financial management and creative expertise, Holtzman worked for over a decade contributing to the formative brand-building years of Discovery Communications’ growth into a world-renowned global media corporation. Andy revitalized Discovery’s advertising and events in-house agency; his team was responsible for brand development & creative execution for Discovery Networks globally as well as for the Education, Corporate and the Consumer Products divisions. Andy was instrumental in crafting the network brand introduction of BBC AMERICA in the USA.
 A seasoned expert in finding and managing the resources needed to create world class brand impact for companies, working with a cost efficient mindset, Andy's expertise has been employed by Paramount Television, Grey Advertising’s TV subsidiary LBS Communications, as President of his own creative consultancy firm, Holtzman Associates and most recently, an event marketing stint at Citigroup.


Bio:  John Nawn/[The FutureShow Group]

John has been providing results-based business consulting since 1995. As an industrial/organizational psychologist, he has worked in for-profit businesses, non-profits, government agencies, and higher education. John has worked with organizations around the world on business strategy, product and service innovation, human capital management, learning strategy, organizational change and development, performance improvement, training and development, and selection and assessment. John has been active in the meetings and events industry as Vice President of Education for PCMA and maintains memberships in ASAE, MPI, and PCMA.


Bio: Tracy Higgins Wakeford/[The FutureShow Group]

Tracy has been planning meetings, conferences, trade-shows, and events across North America and Europe for almost 20 years.

Her wide range of event experience has included everything from smaller seminars and meetings in hotels, event centers and restaurants to larger conferences in convention centers, arenas, and stadiums.

Tracy has previously worked for such companies as Thomson Financial, Garnet Capital Advisors, RFID Journal and most recently, Red 7 Media. At each of those organizations, she used her expertise to manage all event logistics including budgeting, staffing, travel, volunteer and speaker management, menus, signage and décor and contract negotiations with venues and vendors. She loves helping clients take their events from concept to reality – while also helping them conceptualize and consider new possibilities in the process.
